Saturday my dear friends from Libertine Supersport ( best party place in Europe at the moment ) in Bruxelles invited me and my fellows The Shoes to celebrate the bridge between Reims and
Bruxelles we build the last months with of course Mr Stephen aka The Magician, Mustang, Villa, Monte Video, Dirk, Vito and everyone. I'll play a special set upstairs this time, full of love and
happiness!
This event is also special for me as it's gonna be my last official Yuksek dj set for a long period, it's time to turn the huge "away from the sea" page and start something new, and I can tell

As you certainly know we allready teamed up with Brodinski by the past, to produce tracks or remixes for him, to produce remixes together, to dj together or just to eat meat sandwiches in the
studio and talk shit.....
Some month ago we decided to make it real, find a name and eat vegetables, THE KRAYS was born. We basically make music for dancing with a smile, to kiss your boy/girl friend; no war, no headache.
Till now we released an EP with vocals from our dear EBONY BONES called We're ready when you are, on Abracada rec., we remixed Peaches, Ebony (as well...), Aeroplane and Robyn. The story is not
ending, we'll do some dj set together to celebrate the french's riot (sorry...), the first one will take place tomorrow at HIRO BALLROOM, NYC, then Paris, London and Brussels.

I toured a lot in june/july, was very cool time, many fun festivals (Paleo, Calvi, Benicassim, Belaton, Spa and many more....), thanks for being there!
I'm working hard on my new record now, but found time to produce remixes for two bands i really love,
first is
OH LAND - Son of a gun - YUKSEK remix
releasing on Epic US
(the original is really uptempo, there wasn't any interest for me to make the remix strong electro, Nanna's vocals were my focus on this one.)
second is a remix we did with Brodinski (as THE KRAYS)
AEROPLANE - Superstarz - The KRAYS remix
releasing on Eskimo rec.
(this one has been played all summer by our nice friends Erol, 2manydj's, Riton.....)

an other short trip, Russia this time. The concerts were intense. Merci JL Brossard, Vika, all Transmusicales & french bureau crew.
No special thanks to air France who lost 75% of our live backline (we finally got it 80 minutes before the first show...).

As a "own birthday present" I bought it today. Long time running after this museum piece and finally found one...
It's a MS20 blackboard edition, or big school edition, It's basically an oversized version of the MS20 (120cm / 60cm).
Korg only made 40 pieces of this synth in the 70's as a demonstration tool for synthesis education schools. Precious gem.

Sure SM57 microphone (for "clear" vocals)
off course those are only for "live" use, for studio use the Little Phatty is the worst Moog ever, the Boss delay pedal could never replace a space-echo, the Microkorg is usefull but sounds not
crazy, but all of this is much more easy to control than all those lovely vintage keyboards and effects I use in the studio.

Artists are always asked some mix for radio shows, webzines... Short ones, then longer ones, then... there's always a new brief to make what finally appears to be quite the same thing. This
project I've been working on for a while is different, at least to me: it's my own Yuksek mix, no one asked for it, no one is expecting it.
As i'm about to finish the "Away from the sea" tour, i wanted to make a review of all the things that happened to me last years: all the people i met, the collaborations i had the chance to do,
the artists i discovered and liked....
